The ceremony of Sixth Annual St. Joseph Church Scholarships Award for 2005 took place at SamanthaÂ’s Restaurant on Wednesday, May 25, at 7 p.m. with the participation of numerous parishioners. Among our prominent guests we had the Most Reverend John Elya, Eparch emeritus of Newton whose presence was a blessing.

Archbishop Cyril apologized for not being able to attend because he was touring the Eparchy. He charged Fr. Alam, pastor of the church, to extend his congratulations to the recipients, their families and his sincere thanks to the WomenÂ’s Guild for their kind invitation.

As in the previous years, Lorane Hajjar served as a graceful and seasoned Mistress of Ceremony. After welcoming the recipients, their families and the guests, she presented the speakers of the evening: Judy Farah and James Hajjar, both active parishioners of St. Joseph church which they love and continue to serve devotedly.

The lucky recipients of this year are (in the alphabetical order of their first names):
